Tanner again . . .

Tanner asked us how babies are made.  Dave and I told him that it takes a mom's eggs and a dad's sperm to make babies.  I was trying to keep things pretty simple, but he kept asking more questions.  He asked how the sperm and eggs got into the mom.  I just asked him, "Have you ever heard of sex?"  He said, "You're gross, Mom".  I told him that was how babies were made.  He clarified, "So if you have sex, you have babies?"  I said not every time, and, of course told him that only moms and dads are supposed to have sex.  He then said, "I have a chicken mom, and dad, you have a chicken wife."

Tanner . . . .

So, I told Tanner that Mason got a job making sandwiches at Jimmy John's.  Tanner said, "Well, how the heck is he going to do that, I have to make his sandwiches for him at home."  Sad, but true. . . . Mason would pay Zack and Tanner $1.00 to make him a sandwich.  I hope he figured out how to make sandwiches.

Duggars in Rolla, MO

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar from the TV show, 19 and Counting, and all of their children except their oldest son came to Rolla, Missouri for the Patriot Day celebration.  They performed some gospel songs and Jim Bob and Michelle spoke.  It was a fun event.  Tanner got to go look at police cars, SWAT Mobile Command Post and the Armored Humvi.  He though it was awesome.  One of the SWAT members let him hold a gun and get a picture with him.  I hope it is the last time I ever see a gun in his hands.

Wonderful World of Wyman

Tanner's school had an event put on by the students at Missouri University of Science and Technology to teach them about different cultures.  Tanner got a henna drawing on his hand at the India booth and had his name written in Mandarin Chinese.

A day in St. Louis with Dave

Dave took the day off, and we went to St. Louis.  We went to the mall, lunch at the Boat House Restaurant and the Zoo.  We also went to Target - I miss Target :-)  I let the ducks finish my french fries.  They liked them a lot!

Zack, Tanner and Dave go Flying on Labor Day

Darrell Ownby, a friend from church, offered to take the boys on their first airplane ride.  They went up on Labor Day morning.  It was a beautiful day for flying, and the boys loved it!  Dave got to fly the plane a little bit, and had a blast.  He said he could have been out there all day.  He really misses flying.

Brunswick, Georgia Business Trip

Dave went to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center to conduct a Special Victim Unit Training for the Navy (NCIS).  While he was there, he did a little sightseeing in St. Simons Island and also got to go to a football game in Jacksonvile, Florida.  Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Atlanta Falcons.  Jaguars won 24-14.  They had seats only 3 rows back on the 45 yard line.  He loved it in Georgia.  I can't wait to go there with him some day.
